The Club was born when a school teacher and churchwarden formed a team for local boys at the Fulham St Andrew's Church in 1879. In 1896, after two years of developement, the Club took up residence in their new home - Craven Cottage
Owing to their proximity to other London clubs, Fulham maintain long-standing rivalries with several other clubs in the area. The most notable of these is Chelsea with whom they contest what is known the West London Derbies. They became the sixth London club to enter the Barclays Premier League when they regained promotion at the end of the 2017/18 season.
