Ice-skating at Somerset House is London's favourite winter treat. Each year, over a quarter of a million visitors come to skate or to watch friends and family skate against the romantic backdrop of the 18th century courtyard. As darkness falls, with music, flaming torches and atmospheric lighting, the grand 18th century setting and the glittering Tiffany Tree are the perfect backdrop for a romantic evening.
To get there from the Americana; take the Bakerloo Line southbound to Charing Cross and take the exit signed as The Strand. You can either walk down the Strand to Aldwych or take any of the buses. Somerset House is by the river on the east side of Waterloo Bridge.
